Jonathon Kelly BVetMed

I grew up in Bootle, attending Hillside High School before completing my A-Levels at KGV in Southport. It was there that I met my partner, Elin, in 2006. I studied Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College in London until 2014, when we returned home to Crosby, Liverpool to be closer to family. 

On qualifying I was offered my first veterinary job at Alder Veterinary Hospital in West Derby. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, working with and learning from some of the most talented vets I’ve had the privilege of calling colleagues. In 2015, I decided to work closer to home and took a position at The Mews Veterinary Centre in Crosby. During my time at The Mews, I once again, had the opportunity to work alongside brilliant vets and clients making lifelong friends along the way. 

After a short period working at a corporate practice, I found my place at Northway Vets in Aughton. Thanks entirely to its amazingly supportive owner, Trevor Dixon and his wife Do this practice taught me the absolute value of independent veterinary practice. I learned what a small team of remarkable individuals can achieve when working in an environment that cultivates professional growth, working to the highest standards in an entirely ethical manner, resulting in mutual respect, friendship and above all the care of sick animals.

After over four years at Northway, I leave with a heavy heart but having benefitted from much knowledge and personal growth. I remain committed to working alongside Trevor, enabling our two practices to collaborate and provide a service to animals and clients I hold in such high esteem. 

In December 2023, Elin and I made an offer on 113-115 Bridge Road. Formerly a Funeral Directors, our team of skilled builders and trades people have breathed new life into the building and our veterinary practice is gradually evolving. 

Now, with the truly incredible support of our family, friends and the many professionals that have helped us along the way we are so grateful to have reached this point and have the opportunity to own and manage Rimrose Vets. We promise that this is something we will do to the very best of our ability. Our small and dedicated team is committed to providing the very highest standards of veterinary care at a price that is fair to our clients.
